Helga's arrival at the sanctuary 20 years ago was a turning point for her, as well as for us. At the time, she was just one of many animals rescued from an abandonment case, but she quickly stole our hearts with her unique appearance and playful personality.
Helga, has seen a lot of changes at the sanctuary. One of the most significant changes was when we moved to our new property. We were thrilled to have a larger space that could accommodate more animals in need, but the move was stressful for everyone involved. Despite this, Helga adjusted quickly to her new surroundings and continued to thrive in her new home. Over the years, Helga has become a beloved fixture at the sanctuary, delighting visitors and caregivers alike with her friendly nature and charming antics. Her distinctive horn and shy demeanor make her a standout among our cattle residents, but it's her affectionate and playful personality that truly endears her to us all.
Another big change for Helga was when we merged our two cattle herds. At first, she was a bit wary of the new arrivals, but she soon became friends with them and welcomed them into the fold. It's amazing to see how Helga has adapted to the changing dynamics of our sanctuary and how she continues to be a social butterfly, making friends with both humans and animals alike.
Over the years, Helga has seen many of her friends come in as calves and grow into healthy, happy adults. She's been a constant presence in their lives, always there to offer a friendly nudge or a gentle lick. It's heartwarming to see how the animals at the sanctuary have formed such strong bonds with each other, and Helga has been a big part of that. Despite her age, Helga is still as perky and energetic as ever. She enjoys spending time with her animal friends, but she's also a favorite among visitors who love to pet her and feed her treats. She's a social butterfly who loves to be the center of attention, and she's not afraid to show off her playful side when she's in the mood.
Thanks to the generosity and kindness of our community, Helga now has a quiet and comfortable space to enjoy her meals and regain her strength. We're grateful for the support that has enabled us to provide a safe and loving home for Helga and all the animals in our care. We're also proud to be celebrating our 20th year as a sanctuary, and we look forward to many more years of helping animals in need. We're grateful to have Helga as part of our sanctuary family and to see how she has thrived and grown over the years. Her story is a testament to the resilience and strength of animals, and we're proud to be able to provide a safe and loving home for her and all the animals in our care.
